The Roots
Hey, I am Madeline! I am utterly thankful for your interest in Radiant Flora. My love for glasswork started in 2015 when I became an apprentice at a glass shop. I first started working behind a torch making necklace pendants, beads, pipes, and eventually obtained the understandings of traditional stained glass.
Radiant Flora ranges from jewelry pieces, to window hangings, to mystical oddities, talismans, and much more as this craft evolves. Every piece is made from an intentional place, bringing you a radiant peace of beauty from the Earth while keeping in mind the land and plant spirits that surround. Being rooted in herbalism brings the unique quality to my stained glass art. I became amazed that common "weeds", like dandelion, chickweed, nettle, and so many more, are medicinal plants. I truly believe that plants have way more to offer us than we give them credit for! Herbalism believes that we can gain medicine from a plant by utilizing our senses. Ingesting, smelling, seeing, feeling, burning, etc. My hopes with Radiant Flora is to encourage a mindful relationship with plants through the sense of vision as it is illuminated by the sun or moonlight.
The plants used in your stained glass art have been collected, pressed in my plant press or a big ole book, and then encased within sheets of glass. Most of the plants I find on hikes, taking only a few at a time to remain mindful of its natural habitat. Some plants come from beautiful bouquets, friends' gardens, or right in my backyard.
Thank you for being here! Enjoy, my friend & much love to you.
